Winter learning journey

Bonus: During the ancient Olympic Games, men were allowed to compete in the events but women were not. In fact, women were often forbidden from even watching the games. In your opinion, is this a fair rule? Why or why not? On your blog please tell us what you think about this interesting rule.

I think that this rule is fair because some of the girls might distract the men trying to win.

  1. That is an interesting point, Laki. I had truly never thought of that before. In my mind, the 'No Girls Allowed' rule was unfair because it didn't allow both men and women to have equal opportunities to demonstrate their abilities and compete in the games. However, I can see what you are saying. Perhaps the best solution would have been to have separate events for men and women. What do you think of that idea? That way the men could have competed against other men and not been distracted by the women who were in a different location competing against other women.

Hmmm, you have given me something to really think about. Thanks for your thoughtful post, Laki!

Keep up the great blogging :)
