Winter learning journey

Activity 1: Visit the website for the 2016 Rio Olympics. Click on the name of the one of the sports that is listed on the main page. If possible, choose one that you have never heard of before and read about it. After reading about the sport, post a short description of it on your blog. The post must include:

  1. The name of the sport
  2. The aim of the sport
  3. Two rules for the sport








the name of the sport that I chose was rugby.Although the fifteen player version of the sport appeared at the Olympic game between 1900 and 1924.the aim of the sport is to always try to get a try and to always try to kick it in the goal post.And the two rules in rugby will be to never fight and never knock the ball on.

    Hi Laki!

    You have chosen a great sport. Sadly, fifteen-a-side rugby (Rugby Union) isn't an Olympic sport anymore but Sevens Rugby is! They have actually just introduced Sevens Rugby for the first time at the Rio Olympics this year. Apparently the competition will be held in a temporary stadium (Deodoro Stadium) in Rio that has yet to be completely finished. Yikes! That would be terrible, wouldn't it? If they don't get the venue finished, I wonder what the Olympic committee will do...

    Keep up the great blogging, Laki! I hope that you'll have time to complete a few more activities before the programme finishes on 24 July.
