Winter learning journey

Activity 2: Rio de Janeiro, the host of Olympic Games this year, is a huge, vibrant and dynamic city. Perhaps the most famous landmark in the city is a large statue of Jesus called ‘Christ the Redeemer’ that sits on top of a hill overlooking Rio. Here is a picture of the statue:









Sky tower-it is located at Victoria St W & Federal St, Auckland 1010 and it is famous because you can View the city from 220 metres high above street level.



Bay of islands -the bay of islands is located the Bay of Islands encompasses 144 islands between Cape Brett and the Purerua Peninsula and includes the boutique towns of Opua, Paihia, Russell and Kerikeri and It is famous because it is nice to go in the holidays.




Auckland zoo-the Auckland zoo is located at Motions Rd, Auckland 1022 and is famous because you can see diffrent animals at the zoo.

  1. Good choice of landmarks, Laki. I think that you have selected three very famous and popular places in New Zealand. The Sky Tower is particularly famous. Did you know that it is the tallest building in the Southern Hemisphere? That is pretty cool!
