Summer Learning Journey Week 1 Day 3 Activity 3

Activity 3: The WWF: World Wildlife Fund [10 points]
In 1961, a number of people came together to start an organisation called the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). The main goal of this organisation was/is to protect life on earth. Hundreds of WWF staff work in countries all over the world trying to protect our planet and the animals who live here. 2. Hi Laki,
I see that you have seen the video. But it says that you have to write it using full sentences. It would be better if you added more information and detail for your answers. Because I do not know why the WFF is trying to save the Saimaa Ringed Seal. I hope to see some great progress in your work and hope to see outstanding blogs. Please use my feedback.

  4. Kia ora Laki,

I'm really enjoying reading your blog! Did you find out why it is crucial for the Saimaa ringed seals to have these snow banks? If I was to give you a hint, it has to do with the pups (baby seals). Were you able to pick up this piece of information from watching the video?

I think we should all try our best to keep these animals alive because our world would be so much less if we lost them. It breaks my heart to see some species slowly become extinct.

Do you have any pets at home? If not, what is your favourite animal? I personally love dogs (of course), horses and elephants.

p.s. It is great to see how all of you are supporting each other's journey in the comments section. Since you have powered through the program already, it would be awesome if you could provide feedback on other students' blogs!

    Keep up the positivity,
    Susie :)

  5. Hi Laki,
Well done on finishing this activity. It's great to hear that the World Wildlife Fund is trying to help the Saimaa Ringed Seals. Hopefully more of the seal pups will live to become adults with the help of the WWF and their snow banks. Keep up the good work.
